How does the average everyday citizen exercise imagining paradigm shifts?
To imagine a paradigm shift is to take an accepted idea and imagine that it is no longer true. Within fields of study, it is easier to identify long-standing accepted ideas or dogmas and flip them on their head.
What does that look like in everyday life? What are some ideas that we simply accept as true?
Humans are the smartest creatures on the planet.
There will always be sources of food available.
This is difficult although it should be easy.
As long as the sun exists, it will provide light.
The Earth will continue to rotate.
Night and day are caused by the rotation of the Earth.
We all die eventually.
What if the opposites of these statements were true?
