I think I was perusing Kevin MacLeod songs one day when I came across a slow ballad. I had made a few videos using royalty free music by that point and I had typically chosen dramatic or cinematic songs. This one was different. This one was indeed slow, but it was also somber. I might have been in a romantic mood, maybe, but I decided to do something a little different. I was going to make a “romantic” video.

What story did this music convey? I couldn’t get a full story, but I my mind’s eye would spy glimpses of a reel playing somewhere. There was a couple. There was joy. There was sadness. There was longing. What could I come up with?

I searched for videos of couples, weddings, dates. As I collected the assorted clips and arranged them, a picture began to emerge. It wasn’t so complicated after all. What is a relationship? How does it look? How does it end?
