In episode 70 of the Dietitian Side Hustle podcast, the lovely host Katie Dodd gives an income report and gives some advice on growing your business, especially for the bloggers.
First, I have to say that Ms. Dodd was transparent and went through her income and expenses for her business. This is something I enjoy seeing other content creators, especially the ones on YouTube do. We, regular people, want to know what is it really like on the other side. What is waiting for me if I were to make it?!
My biggest takeaway, though, was to not be afraid to invest in a business coach, a course, or a mastermind class. It may take some time to get to that point, but it may well be worth it. Consider it as investing in your education. If you went to college, you probably paid tuition, fees, housing, meal plan, etc. Consider paying tuition for your business/blog.
Ms. Dodd saw her blog’s income grow exponentially after investing in a mastermind class and a big change in her mindset. She spent ~ $30k on business coaching and she went from making $30k the previous year from her side hustle to $150k the next year! She had to pay that tuition first though. She still made $100k from her full-time job in addition to that.
Now, Ms. Dodd dropped her full-time job and is focusing on her business. Her goal is to make $750k this year. Can you imagine going from $100k/year to $750k/year?
Let’s hope she reaches her goal. I am left with one question though, when is a good time to pay for coaching, masterminds, courses, etc.?
