robot eye, blue eye

Review of Short Story Yesterday’s Wolf by Ray Nayler

What to say about this story?

A tech savvy girl lives on a farm with her parents. Said girl repurposes a sentinel robot dog to protect the family’s sheep from roaming wolves. Ultimately, an incident occurs that requires the robot dog’s help.

For such a short story there were several layers to it and I can’t even begin to do it justice. This story touches on cultural norms, ethics, misogyny, and maybe more.

Upon a casual listening, this felt like a story worthy of someone’s English class analysis.
