The DC Movie Blue Beetle was released on August 18, 2023. It seems to have come out to mixed reviews, but overall it was fine.

Several years before the movie came out, I was scouring the site Comic Book Plus, where there are many old comics that are now in the public domain and thus, free to use however one pleases. I think at this time I had already commissioned an artist on Fiverr to make an image or two. I then had the idea to commission someone to modernize old superhero logos.

Part of the struggle was finding superheroes with logos to modernize. One such superhero that I did find was one called Blue Beetle.

Blue Beetle was published by the publisher Fox Feature Syndicate, which would eventually become a part of DC comics. Another notable character of Fox Feature Syndicates that would survive the DC acquisition is Phantom Lady.

In any case, I found someone, aldrinmathew1, on Fiverr to make a modern Blue Beetle logo for me. This was in 2019 and I’ve just been sitting with it. Even now, the peak interest of the Blue Beetle movie has likely passed, but better late than never.
